Kevin Lafrenière

Kevin Lafrenière practices in all areas of civil and commercial litigation as well as in public and administrative law. His practice leads him to represent a diverse clientele before all judiciary courts of Quebec. He is recognized by his peers for his expertise in appellate cases and for his thoroughness and ability to solve the most complex legal issues.

Mr. Lafrenière graduated from the Faculty of Law of Université de Sherbrooke with honours. During his studies, he held research assistant positions in obligations law and administrative law.

Before joining LCM Attorneys in 2021, Mr. Lafrenière practiced for seven years in a boutique litigation firm. He had previously clerked at the Quebec Court of Appeal with the Honourable François Pelletier.

Mr. Lafrenière was a lecturer at Université de Sherbrooke in contracts law and a teaching assistant at Université de Montréal in legal methodology. He also acted as a student researcher at the Jean- Louis Baudouin Chair in civil law. Since 2014, Mr. Lafrenière has volunteered with the Young Bar of Montreal’s Assistance Service for the preparation of hearings before the Court of Appeal.

Representative work

Representation of corporations and shareholders in commercial and corporate disputes.

Representation in appeal of a real estate owner in the context of an injunction aiming to put an end to the discharge of contaminants from the storm sewer system of the City of Montreal.

Representation of heirs, legatees and liquidat- ors in the context of inheritance disputes.

Representation of a real estate owner in the context of a de facto expropriation.

Representation in appeal of an important produce grower in the context of an application for judicial review pertaining to obtaining a certificate of compliance with municipal regulations.
