With her insatiable appetite for complex legal issues, her creativity and her practical, customer-oriented approach, Geneviève works in a wide variety of fields. 
Professional experience
Geneviève Gaudet has been practising civil and commercial litigation with the firm since 2020. She previously worked at LCM as a law student and completed her Québec Bar articling placement with the firm.
Dynamic and passionate about complex legal issues, Geneviève stands out for her creative and strategic approach to the practice of law. She favours innovative and pragmatic solutions and is not afraid to think outside the box when circumstances call for it.
Geneviève quickly established herself in administrative and public law and professional liability, thanks to her exceptional ability to grasp the nuances and intricacies of even the most complex cases. Her strong legal background, combined with intellectual curiosity and sharp analytical skills, enables her to navigate challenging legal situations and develop effective, innovative strategies tailored to her clients’ objectives.
Committed to contributing to the development of the legal profession, Geneviève has served since 2026 on the Young Advocates’ Standing Committee (YASC) and the Québec Committee of The Advocates’ Society. In these roles, she helps represent and promote litigators with fewer than ten years of practice across Canada, while contributing to initiatives that foster professional development, mentorship, networking and engagement among the next generation of legal professionals.
Alongside her legal career, Geneviève is actively involved in her community, particularly in promoting and advancing women’s sports. Her social and community involvement earned her the Lieutenant Governor’s Youth Medal.
An accomplished athlete and avid flag football player, she has competed in several Canadian and international championships. She also served as defensive coordinator for Concordia University’s flag football team from the program’s inception until 2023, actively contributing to its development and success.
Since March 2024, Geneviève has served on the Board of Directors of Football Québec. As the first woman to serve as President of the organization, a position she has held since joining the Board, she plays an active role in the growth and governance of amateur football in Québec. In this capacity, she also serves on Football Canada’s Council of Provincial Presidents.

Represented the Association des obstétriciens gynécologues du Québec before the Superior Court of Québec in proceedings seeking to put an end to systemic discrimination against female medical specialists.

Represented The Advocates’ Society as an intervener before the Supreme Court of Canada in Canadian Broadcasting Corp. v. Named Person, 2024 SCC 21, concerning the reconciliation of police informer privilege with the open court principle.

Represented administrative decision-makers whose decisions were subject to applications for judicial review or internal review mechanisms.

Represented the defendants in a class action brought by a group of customers seeking reimbursement of alleged overpayments to Hydro-Québec for electricity services.

Represented individuals and corporations challenging decisions and actions of federal and provincial public authorities before administrative tribunals and courts.

Represented lawyers and law firms facing professional liability claims arising from the legal services they provided.

Represented members of the judiciary facing complaints concerning judicial ethics, as well as committees responsible for reviewing such complaints.

Provided strategic advice and guidance to professional organizations on governance, equity, risk management and regulatory compliance matters.
