National Aboriginal History Month
1 June 2022
June is National Aboriginal History Month. This month is an opportunity to celebrate the history, heritage, resilience and diversity of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples across Canada. The festivities culminate on National Aboriginal Peoples’ Day on June 21, which coincides, by design, with the summer solstice.
A little over a week after the first anniversary of the discovery of unmarked graves in Kamloops, the next few weeks are also an opportunity to continue the conversation about reconciliation with First Nations and how we, as individuals, can get involved.
Openness and inclusion are important values to LCM Attorneys and we are proud to recognize the invaluable contributions of Aboriginal communities to Canadian history, past and present.
