Two New Partners at LCM Attorneys

14 June 2024

LCM Attorneys is proud to announce the appointment of Lucy-Maude Lachance and Alberto Martinez as partners of the firm. Tenacious, thoughtful, and efficient, the addition of Lucy-Maude and Alberto to our group of partners aligns with our tradition of excellence.

Lucy-Maude was admitted to the Bar in 2014 and has gained recognition for her unique ability to dissect and master complex issues from a factual or technical standpoint in order to deploy the best litigation resolution strategies to meet her clients’ objectives.

She has developed a diverse practice in civil and commercial litigation, construction law, and employment law, advocating before all levels of Quebec civil courts.

Recognized in 2024 by Best Lawyers in Canada as a lawyer to watch (“Ones to Watch”) in construction, Lucy-Maude strategically advises various construction stakeholders in managing litigated disputes, as well as in real-time disputes on significant construction sites. In employment law, she frequently represents executives, employers, and employees in contract negotiations and disputes related to non-solicitation and non-competition agreements.

She has acted multiple times as an independent investigator in cases involving sensitive and complex issues and is duly accredited by the Quebec Bar as a lawyer conducting investigations into psychological harassment in the workplace. In addition to her practice, Lucy-Maude is involved in the firm’s management, particularly in mentoring, recruitment, and the development of internal policies.

Alberto Martinez, a member of the Bar since 2003, has distinguished himself through his practice in litigation and dispute resolution in civil and commercial matters. He combines a rigorous legal analysis, a strategic approach, and the required tact in conflict situations.

Alberto has handled a variety of cases, ranging from commercial and contractual disputes to banking litigation, defamation suits, public law litigation, and class actions. His advice is also sought for the negotiation and drafting of commercial agreements. His clients appreciate his sound advice and ability to defend their interests in litigated and commercial contexts.

He has also conducted several workplace investigations to ensure compliance with harassment policies and has advised university disciplinary committees to ensure procedural fairness.

Alberto has also taught contract law at the University of Montreal, where he has received appreciation from his students for his teaching skills.

We are delighted to welcome Lucy-Maude and Alberto to our team of partners and to be able to count on their talent, leadership, and commitment to our clients and to the firm.
